Chicago Ikea

I have just set out on my adventure. I left Crawfordsville at 3:30, a whole five hours later than I had intended. Packing and preparing for an adventure like this, everything needed to be just right. There were more details to attend to than I had anticipated, but at last, I was on my way. Only two hours later, did my exhaustion hit me, and I pulled off to give the cats and myself a break at the Dairy Queen. While my destination tonight was to be a beautiful state park, my intent for the afternoon was an Ikea. Oh, Ikea. Land of dreams. Or make believe. Walking among living rooms that are not my own. Dream kitchens. Tiny, efficient European apartments. Everything slick and clean. That is what Ikea is. Before I left California, I had grown tired of the furniture, the doo-dads, the predictably likable nature-inspired patterns, but I still enjoyed going there, buying a cup of coffee, and walking around the fantasies. This is what I sought, as I gave my kitties a rest from their boxes for the evening.

Ikea now offers another wonderful thing... free WiFi! Alas, my laptop in my trailer in the parking lot cannot pick it up.

  1. Did you know there is a "totally, awesome Ikea" in Costa Mesa, a mere twenty minute drive from here?

  2. I love the ingenuity of Ikea's design, but they do sell cheap crap, too. Have fun on the road!
