So, perhaps you can understand why I sent them away before the house was done. It's a manageable amount of
At one point, one of the movers decided he wanted to use as little of the truck as possible. He looks at the stuff still being brought into the truck (unaware that his partner had been ignoring the stack of 20 book boxes), and asked if I could just put the rest in my car?
No.
Hell no!
But as I sit here today, looking at what's left, I am reminded that yes, there will be stuff in the car/trailer whether I like it or not. I am not simply on a road trip. I'm moving. And there will inevitably be something I can't put in the truck. The hamper, for example, seems a logical concession. But then again, it is easier to put it on top of the truck-pile, than the overhead projector. That's right, I have one of those, and I'm not getting rid of it.
There are several pieces of furniture that didn't sell at the yard sale; things that are nice enough I don't want to donate them. But I also don't want to put them in the truck. So I'm taking a stab at Craigslist. (Why, yes, someone DID email me if she could trade a gaudy, $20 watch for by $100 antique iron bed frame. How'd you know?) I have a couple days to see how it goes.
I AM making my amusing last-minute boxes that make so little sense, I don't bother labeling them. This one has a fiberglass goose, plastic shoe boxes and a saw in it. This one has buckets and my grandpa's first aid kit and an old light fixture. Good times.
