Getting ready to move by painting (not packing)

"Oh, look honey. The house is looking lovely! Surely we can live here starting this weekend!"

Yeah, we're moving in, even though only one third of the flooring is taken care of.

Since the fridge was being delivered, we wanted to paint behind it before it was installed.

Done. I am really happy with the turquoise. S said he is too.

Things the fridge installer SHOULDN'T have said:
  • "Red and black and white. Huh. I bet that was your idea, wasn't it." (in a derisive voice)
  • "Turquoise. Why turquoise?" ("Because I hate the red.") "No. You should paint the kitchen red and add turquoise accents, like turquoise cabinet knobs and a vase or something. Trust me. I do interior design on the side."

Things the fridge installer did say:
Yeah, he said that stuff.

So I said, "There is a dent on the side." The second guy said, "how does $100 off sound?" I like that guy.

Anyway, that shiny new fridge is the GE Profile made in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. It is the most expensive appliance I've ever bought. It has a USB port so you can show pictures in the little screen. It has a sensor to automatically fill your bottle up without over flowing. It makes ice. It has spacey LED lights inside. It has plenty of room for film.

The bedroom has the most furniture at this point, so I was hoping to get it painted before the move. We wanted to paint it before the floors were done, but the prep, ceiling, and priming took longer than we thought.

The light is still broken in this room, and I won't buy a light made in China. So this is the mood light right now.

Since the floors are still setting up, I can walk on them but not place heavy furniture. I still need to cut-in the ceiling, but this is the basic idea.

S has been working on the basement ceiling. Some of the tiles were damaged or stained from a leak (that we don't know is still active or not). I was thinking we would replace the whole thing, since the tiles don't match, and I was worried about the way the paint would look. It actually does look very nice and he's done a great job convincing me it will turn out fine! Above is in-progress (indefinitely); the right is newly painted, the left still original.
