Wrapping up the first semester

My first semester back in Indiana is wrapping up. The piles of papers needing grades, the math involved I calculating the final grades, the last minute glue-gun accidents and tears to come...

I started painting the kitchen yesterday. The fridge is due to be delivered this week, and I wanted the wall at least painted so I wouldn't have to make a weird white spot behind it. It is shocking turquoise. It's beautiful. And I can see it is really daring. It begs for accessories. But it's only a little done, so no pictures yet.

The wood floors are nearly done. Then the get to cure. Actually, I think he is touching up tomorrow, but they we're done on Saturday. Today, they installed the new quarter round. It looks great, though now the unpainted, scuffed, dingy baseboards look even more scuffed and dingy. But soon, the furniture will go in, and we will be sleeping there. Like this weekend. Crazy.

My mom and family is visiting after Xmas and I had a fantasy everything would be done, painted, unpacked, installed. Now I think they will be helping wash walls and paint too. Sorry.

I've been grading all day on the porch at the house. It was 70, sunny, breezy. There was a pink sunset through the budding trees. Yeah. 70 with budding trees in December. I don't know how long the world can take this.
