Gramma Tree

We have two ancient maple trees in our yard. They might be from the woods that used to cover this neighborhood, older than all the houses. I named them gramma and grandpa tree. The other trees in the yard are small and too close to gramma. They probably could never grow really big because of that.

We bought the house after all the fall leaves were on the ground, so it was hard to tell what anything was. But now that spring is in swing, the magnolia has bloomed. It's the same species that was in my grandma's yard the last 15 years.
